How Much Tax Refund Could You Get?
Estimate the refundable credits (EITC + Child Tax Credit) you may get, and the income level that maximizes them. Tax year 2026.
Estimates only, not tax advice. Assumes wages are your only income, adjusted gross income (AGI) equals those wages, the standard deduction, no other credits, and all dependents are qualifying children under 17 with valid SSNs. Eligibility is assumed, not verified: you must meet all applicable age, SSN, residency, dependency, and filing-status requirements. For EITC without a qualifying child, you (or at least one spouse if filing jointly) must be age 25–64 at year-end. Other income, including taxable interest, dividends, and capital gains, is not included and may reduce or eliminate your credits. Investment income can reduce EITC through AGI even when it does not exceed the 2026 $12,200 investment-income limit; exceeding that limit disqualifies you from EITC. Uses 2026 federal amounts (IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32) that apply to returns filed in 2027; confirm at irs.gov or with a tax professional.
